Is there really a
choice? Is there really a decision that could change your life forever?
Friend, the answer is YES. Most people had rather not live a life of
frustration and defeat, but many in today’s world wake up to a life void
of hope each morning. But there is hope. You may be planning for the
next five or ten years, but what about the next thousand? And in those
few short years from now, how will you live each day? How will you meet
the inconveniences of each day… or a crisis such as death or loss of
income? If you do not have hope, then life can be tremendously tough.
Jesus offers you a gift
that can change everything! He wants us to know we can have life now;
hope; and we can have life forever with Him in heaven. You may never
have read the Bible, and may never have attended a single church
service. But in your heart, you know that there is more to life than
merely getting up each morning and going through a routine. In the next
few moments, we would like to share with you how you can discover the
decision that will change everything. The reality is that you have an
opportunity to decide where you will be spending eternity …and what else
there is to live for.
Life can change! There is hope! There are absolutes in realizing these
truths:
-
God loves you and I
wants us to be with Him in heaven.
-
You and I are unable
to enter heaven on our own merits because we are consumed with sin.
The Bible puts it this way; “All have sinned and have fallen short
of the glory of God.”
-
Tragically, there is
an extreme and final penalty for sin that most folks rarely like to
discuss. That penalty is death and physical separation from God
forever in hell.
-
Jesus paid the
penalty for us as He suffered and died on the cross at Calvary.
-
Jesus rose on the
third day. He won the victory over sin and death. And He now offers
eternal life to those who trust in Him as their Savior and Lord.
The realization now is
that the sin that entangles us and has kept us from a relationship with
the Living God can be forgiven, forever! When you place your trust in
Jesus Christ as your Savior you are set free. Hope is made new and there
is a future. When you awake each day you can experience the joy of
living and you have strength to face any enemy. Any enemy! You do not
have to live apart from the Lord. You can have His peace today.
The decision is yours. If you understand that Jesus is the Christ and
has died for your sins… and if you will trust Him as your Savior and
Lord, He will show Himself to be the Faithful One. The Bible says that
if we confess that Jesus is Lord we will be saved. And if we confess our
sins to Him, He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from
unrighteousness. Would you like to be set free? Tell Him from your heart
and speak aloud to Him. “With the heart man believes and with the mouth
confession is made to salvation.”
You may want assistance in saying the words from the heart. If so, there
is a simple prayer for salvation that brings eternal life: Lord in
Heaven. I know that I am a sinner and need to be saved from my sin and
hell. Forgive me and cleanse me. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God
and I ask Him to be my Savior and Lord today. Help me to live each day
for Your glory and to grow in Your Spirit. Thank you for saving me and
setting me free. Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, and you believe and trust the Lord heard your
heart, then you have been saved. Our prayer is that you will share this
decision with a pastor or minister, and family member, in the coming
days. May the Lord bless you as you walk in Christ.
